Happy Happy
We had a busy weekend...I went out on the town with the ladies and the next day hosted a birthday party for 11 babies/toddlers. It was a blast of a time...but we are still recovering. Tired souls in our home today.

Harvesting Season
Maya last year
our cider
The last of the harvest...apple picking and cider making are the last harvesting activities of the season. We also hunted for chantrelles in the wooded area above the farm and ran into a bear - that's always fun. Despite being quite chilly in the mornings, the sun came out in full force to warm us up during the day. I am really enjoying the farm life lately - we go out there every other week or so and it is really a welcome retreat from the city's hustle and bustle. Granted I don't have to run the farm, so I get to enjoy it to its fullest. My parents are redoing the cottage on the property so that we can have our own space now that we are toting 2 kids around. I am so excited! So farewell warm weather...hello Fall. I am officially acknowledging that the cold weather is here to stay.

headshots
What is it about passport/license photos that make you look so ghastly? I tried, I really did. I put on makeup for peet's sake and brushed my hair! But nooooo, the bags under my eyes are visible, my pale skin from lack of summer sun is visible and my eyes look super small. I should have practiced beforehand. Oh well. I just have to look at this passport photo for a decade. No big deal. Just ten years.
La Maison
Some fun photos of our home. Playing around with the capabilities of my little digital camera. Trying to capture these last moments of sun before the dreary dark days of winter seep in for good!

Let's Get Organized
I am a BIG believer in lists. I have lists for everything: stores, menus, things to do, things to do in your garden, things to buy for ski season...you get the idea. But I don't like looking at my lists all over the place. So, in walks the handy dandy dry-eraser board!! I bought some stick-on sheets that I am able to apply on the inside of my kitchen cabinet - that way you don't see them but they are easy to access and browse. I know, it's genius. Thank you.

For the house...I mean, baby
While I am finished with my procreative duties, I just couldn't help but post these fabulously modern baby furnishings. The wooden playmat from Finn-Emma is genius. How many times have you looked over in your living room and were embarrassed at that crazy colored play mat that was taking over your floor? And that crib! It's a work of art.

DIY Bathroom Art
Check out this DIY tongue-in-cheek bathroom art. I love it. I think this will be a great winter craft when we are stuck in side most of the day. From Ohdeedoh, she writes: After cutting the tubes in different widths, I painted a few of the insides then sprayed everything with an acrylic finish to protect against any moisture-related issues. Next, I arranged the pieces to form a design that I liked, glued them together and hung the assembly on the wall with a handful of straight pins. Inexpensive and easy to do, this shows that handmade art doesn't have to be a big undertaking."

Sunday Sunday
ahhhhh...Sunday was awesome. The kids BOTH slept through the night until 5AM then went back to sleep until 8 ish. Then while the littlest one was being entertained in the living room, I got to snuggle with my toddler in bed for almost an hour! It was heaven. And as if it couldn't get better, my husband made blueberry pancakes. Loved loved loved that morning. Everything was at a slightly slower pace than normal - maybe it was the weather (first grey Fall day we've had so far...a novelty at first but it quickly becomes the hottest topic to complain about with friends), maybe it was the fact that it was Sunday or maybe we were just all on the same page for once.

White on White

I am a huge fan of color but there is something about an all white bedroom with a fluffy white down comforter that is really enticing.

Outdoor Living
Check out this Echo Park cottage from Apartment Therapy:
Outdoor movies!?!?!?!? Awesome idea.
I am swooning over this outdoor setup!
Our summer here in the PNW has been gloomy to say the least. It's just now starting to feel summery with a little sun here and there and it's mid-August! I know I shouldn't be complaining because there is so much destructive weather out there across the country, but I want my summer back! These pictures make me want it back even more.
